located just round the corner from my husbands (and my for a couple of weeks) place of work on Eichendorffstrasse 13 (just across from NordBahnHof) it has fast become a firm favourite in our little group. Like many other Berlin coffee houses the atmosphere is very relaxed and they take pride in their coffee, but what sets this place apart from the others is really the staff.
They are such a friendly bunch that they instantly make you feel welcome, they actively look after you while you are visiting and you really feel like a guest rather than a customer. The staff and owner are chatty, love to hear feedback about their offerings and are genuinely interested in whatever your up to. You can go there by yourself and not feel awkward and the seating arrangements make it easy to feel comfortable if you are alone or in a big group.
The Coffee menu is great for selecting a drink exactly how you would like it and the tasty snacks are mostly baked on premises. Another nice thing about this place is the music selection, with a CD player and record deck they seem to know how to select just the right music for who is in there at the time. There are a lot of other little touches about the place that I like for example the water you can just help yourself to, the art exhibitions that have just started (they last a month each) and the selection of interesting books dotted around.
It goes without saying they have plug sockets and free WiFi but the table height makes it very easy to work from a laptop. As you can tell I have lost many hours to this place and I don’t regret it at all.
